Blog #1: Parental Leave

Parental leave in Japan is common amongst women, but rare for men. However according to the BBC Asia article, parents are allowed up to a year of parental leave. Women have been more likely to go on parental leave than man are. For the first time Japan's Environmental Minister (Shinjiro Koizumi) will be taking two weeks of parental leave. This will be the first time a Japanese cabinet minister will take parental leave. Even though it is ok for men to go on parental leave, many don't because they feel that they are obligated to keep working.

Since the #MeToo movement sparked in South Korea back in January 2020, many have come forward with sexual assault accusation against other men in politics. A female prosecutor came out and told that another male superior had sexually assaulted her. The prosecutor was sentenced to 2 years in prison last January. He was charged with abuse of power because the 3 year limitation had passed already since the assault occurred in 2010. Blog #5: Shooting in Thailand

After already being shaken up, Thailand experienced yet another shooting. Thankfully this time it didn't injure anyone or kill any one. Thailand had already experienced a mass shooting in which 29 people were killed. This shooting lasted for 18 hours, as the shooter went off an a spree. This most recent shooting only lasted for 6 hours and the no one was harmed in any way. When authorities finally arrested the guy, he said his motive was stemmed from family problems. North Korea Cyberattack

On Wednesday, a report came out saying that some North Korean hackers tried new ways and also old ways of stealing money. This is nothing new because in 2014 North Korean hackers attacked Sony Picture Entertainment. This kind of cyber fighting is something that goes on daily between the United Sates and North Korea. These cybercriminals are known for ransomware and also for stealing money by hacking into digital currency exchanges. They have stolen millions of dollars and have launched attacked on hospitals and companies.
